Experimentation- Alternative approaches to photographing performing artists.

In response to my group session with Gavvin, where he stated how I should approach documenting the Dj's/Mc's differently rather than simply just photographing them with a standard flash, I decided to not use any form of on-camera flash and instead make use of the artificial lighting present within the club, Antwerp Mansion. By using a slow shutter alongside the presence of  strobes lights and visuals which were projected onto the entire stage I was left with an almost abstract perspective of the night; in a sense this can be seen as representing my experience of the night as a whole, you can literally see the movement of both myself and the performing artists.
It can be argued that this approach to documenting the performing artists which occupy Manchester's clubs provides the viewer with a more intimate experience with regards to the events which have taken place.
Personally, what I admire most about these photographs are the beautiful array of colours which fill the frame. However, what I appreciate most about these photographs is the fact these blurred colours are pure and raw, they have not been forced.
From an initial documentary photographic perspective it was nice for me to approach this aspect of photography completely differently to how I usually would, however, this being said, I am not entirely sure as to whether I could develop this project any further.
